sunvault: the chic way to store your sunnies

sunvault is a fictional packaging concept designed to feel both functional and decorative. At its core is a book shaped box that holds sunglasses while also serving as a sculptural object you would want to keep on display. The project takes inspiration from elevated vintage aesthetics and the spirit of upcycling, echoing the atmosphere of a curated vintage store. It explores how packaging can move beyond utility into lifestyle storytelling, where warmth, texture, and presence make the design feel personal, useful, and easy to live with.

These are several versions of covers that I created for sunvault. Made in chronological order, my development and iterations are apparent.

This was the first version of the cover I created. I enjoyed the illustrative element, but it didn’t feel authentic to the fictional brand or true to the purpose of the product.

This version came closer to the final outcome, but it still didn’t feel fully authentic to the brand and lacked a cohesive color scheme.

The final layout felt true to the brand, with a design that carried a clear sense of authenticity and cohesion. The color palette, structure, and overall atmosphere worked together in a way that felt intentional and aligned with the product’s purpose. In the end, it came together as something visually consistent and emotionally resonant, a design that feels genuine and true to the vintage spirit I wanted to capture.
